"The affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behaviour".

Update: All the Google services such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps and others are now completely restored.

Gmail and Google Drive appeared to be down for numerous users worldwide on Tuesday evening.

On its GSuite dashboard, Google first updated acknowledging the problem, which it said needs to be resolved. Google Drive is a file storage and share service.

As of 1pm, the issues were still continuing for some users.

Many users in Australia, the US, Europe and Asia reported outages with Gmail, Google Maps and Google Drive, The Guardian reported. AussieOutages logged up to 2822 reports with Gmail and 118 reports with Drive.

'Users will have issues accessing or attaching files in various products'.

They came from United States, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Canada and 55 more countries. When trying to send an e-mail, instead of delivering the message, users receive the notice "Message could not be sent".

For me, I noted earlier today that I couldn't log in, with a successful password entry showing a message about the network being down, and now showing the message "LOGIN UNAVAILABLE", with the follow-on statement that "Bendigo e-banking is currently unavailable".

For a few hours now, Google Drive and Gmail have been hit by a global outage (for only some users though).
