First 100 Cr Hindi Film for Rajinikanth

On its opening day, the film has grossed Rs 20.25 crore across the globe.

The latest development provides that 2.0 crossed the INR1 billion mark worldwide on its first day. As per the early estimates, the film has shown an vast growth during the weekend and collected around Rs 25 crore nett on Saturday.

Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the collections.

Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 was on Thursday leaked online by Tamilrockers, the notorious torrent website that hosts pirated copies of films.

Overseas too, the film that marks the debut of Akshay Kumar in South has also performed well overseas and has raked in almost Rs 2 crore in the US, Rs 58 lakhs in Australia and over Rs 11 lakhs in New Zealand. The film is written and directed S. Shankar. The movie, which was believed to have been released in over 10,500 screens on November 29, has been a hit with moviegoers from day one. The film marks the return of Dr Vaseegran and Chitti and witnesses the emergence of an ever-so-powerful villain in Akshay Kumar as Pakshiraja.

According to the reports that have been doing the rounds, the film had enjoyed an equally good second day at the box office. AR Rahman has composed the music of 2.0. This is also the first time the actor will be seen playing a negative role in films. The movie is made under the huge budget of Rs 543 and is considered as the most expensive Indian film.

The Hindi version of "2.0" is quite steady and very decent.
