Kurtley Beale And Adam Ashley-Cooper Dropped After Breaking Team Rules

Beale And Ashley-Cooper Dropped By Australia After Hotel Incident Post Wales Defeat

The Wallabies have a strict team rule banning guests in hotel rooms and though the women were believed to be Ashley-Cooper's sister-in-law and two friends, who left well before midnight, it was considered a breach.

According to a report in Australia's Daily Telegraph, both players were sanctioned after the leadership group consisting of Michael Hooper, David Pocock, Allan Alaalatoa, Samu Kerevi and Nick Phipps, chose to raise the issue.

Kurtley Beale won't get to wear the Wallabies' indigenous jersey at Twickenham.

Cheika, speaking to reporters at Twickenham on Friday, said he had only become aware of the incident earlier this week which explained the lack of action prior to the 26-7 win over Italy last Saturday, when Ashley-Cooper was on the wing and Beale came off the bench.

Michael Cheika says he wants the Wallabies to play in a certain way, and that now doesn't include Kurtley Beale.

Australia head coach Michael Cheika discusses leaving Kurtley Beale off the Wallaby 23 to face England, on a game day when the team wears a special indigenous jersey. "They realised the error in their judgement and they've been very, very proactive in trying to help the other players get ready for tomorrow's game".

"The team has got standards, they put those standards in place for a reason, the two boys have breached those standards and the playing group and Michael (Cheika) came to me and said 'This is what we're recommending on the situation", and I support them in that stance 100 per cent, ' she said.

"We've got one of the best doctors in world sport in Nathan Gibbs". That's the way it is.

"It's a minor thing that's in the team code". But they've done nothing to hurt anybody else. They've let their teammates down in this instance, and that's where it should lay.

"I've been pleased we haven't looked for excuses".

"Whatever that is - changing the coach, appointing a former Wallaby as a chairman of selectors on a panel, appointing new assistants - take a bit from each of the successful teams in the world and implement that".

"Sceptics might be laughing but, give us a few months, and we'll get ourselves together, don't worry".

"Sometimes you get a bit of pain, but in the end you get a lot of gain".

Pocock, who took a year out from worldwide rugby in 2017, has been nursing a neck injury for most of the season which forced him out of Australia´s home Rugby Championship test against South Africa in September.
