Federal Bureau of Investigation completes interview of Kavanaugh's high school friend

Donald Trump speaks during an event at the White House on Monday

Days after being ordered to look into sexual misconduct allegations against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has talked with his high school friend Mark Judge, but the interview is not complete, his attorney said on Monday.

Note: Just days ago, Trump called Blasey Ford a "very credible witness".

At a rally in MS on Tuesday night, Trump mocked Ford for not having answers to some questions during her testimony.

The former boyfriend also said Ford neither mentioned Kavanaugh nor mentioned she was a victim of sexual misconduct during the time they were dating from about 1992 to 1998.

"What neighbourhood was it in?" "I don't know. I don't know". I don't know. Upstairs, downstairs, where was it? On Fox & Friends Wednesday morning, Brian Kilmeade said Trump had been "laying low" prior to now but that he "blew it" with these new comments, adding, "I wonder about the wisdom tactically of him doing that", per Mediaite.

Mr Kavanaugh has denied her allegation, as well as sexual misconduct accusations by two other women.

Demand Justice, a new group focused on fighting efforts to tilt the US judiciary to the right, said it was spending $120,000 to air a television ad in Washington, Alaska, Maine and the San Francisco area, where Ford lives.

"It's about time", say multiple male professionals in IT and banking Firstpost spoke with this week after Kavanaugh's testimony and immediately after Trump's comments today.

"To discuss something this sensitive at a political rally is just not right. I wish he hadn't had done it". "You could be flawless your whole life and then someone comes around and accuses you. Now, you're guilty until proven innocent", Trump said.

She did not say if it would affect her vote.

Republicans hold a 51-49 Senate majority heading into next month's midterm elections that will determine which political party controls both houses of Congress. But many Republicans, Trump included, have steadfastly stood by Kavanaugh and continue to question and discredit his accusers.

For some key Republican U.S. senators, no matter where they appeared in the country, newly emboldened protesters, mostly women, were there as well, after being credited with helping force at least a week's delay in the confirmation vote for Kavanaugh.

The FBI's week-long investigation hits the midway point Wednesday but the bitter war of words over Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation process is escalating at a far more rapid pace.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton literally laughed out loud when she was asked about Kavanaugh's assertion that the allegations against him were "revenge on behalf of the Clintons".

Trump ordered the FBI investigation last Friday, limiting its duration to no more than a week.

With the crowd laughing and cheering his impression of Ford, Trump then turned serious.

"She's always had my back", Trump said. She was appointed by Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Senator Thad Cochran, who retired in April this year.

Opinions of Ford's testimony - on social media and television networks - were that she was powerful and believable. There are facts that she can not remember: "how she got home, how she got there, where the house was, what the date was".

Ford told the Senate Judiciary Committee she was "100 percent certain" it was a drunken Kavanaugh who pinned her down on a bed, groped her, tried to take off her clothes, and put his hand over her mouth to muffle her screams for help.

The fight over Kavanaugh's nomination comes against the backdrop of the #MeToo movement fighting sexual harassment and assault that has toppled a succession of powerful men.

Choosing several Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Trump called out Sen. "We should explain to people what that means".
