Brett Kavanaugh: Supreme Court nominee ‘targeted vulnerable girls’ at school parties

Penn alum Michael Avenatti claims to represent client with damaging information on Brett Kavanaugh

A new woman alleging sexual misconduct against Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh has come forward-this time with legal representation from Stormy Daniels' attorney Michael Avenatti.

Attorney Michael Avenatti identified Julie Swetnick on Wednesday, who claimed that Kavanaugh took part in "gang" rapes during 1980s high school parties.

Swetnick is the third woman to come forward with allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh in the past month.

Later in the day on Wednesday, the written testimony for Kavanaugh's first accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford was released. Judge was a high school classmate of Kavanaugh.

In her declaration, Swetnick recounts an alleged incident in approximately 1982 in which she says she was the victim of a "gang rape" at which Kavanaugh was present.

Kavanaugh is scheduled to testify Thursday at a hearing in front of the panel, which will also hear from Ford, who has accused the Supreme Court nominee of assaulting her at a party decades ago when they were both teenagers. "These boys included Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh", Swetnick said.

"She wrote that she was incapacitated, perhaps drugged with Quaaludes", and was "unable to fight off the boys raping me". He has said: "I've never sexually assaulted anyone in high school or otherwise".

In the extensive amount of time we collectively spent with Brett, we do not recall having ever met someone named Julie Swetnick.

She witnessed both of them "drink excessively and engage in highly inappropriate conduct", she stated.

Avenatti declined to expand on the allegation in an interview Wednesday on ABC's "The View", saying he would not add detail beyond what was in the statement.

She said that Kavanaugh's declaration of "innocence" and lack of sexual inactivity in high school on Fox News is a lie.

In it, he alleged that there was "significant evidence of multiple house parties in the Washington, D.C. area during the early 1980s during which Brett Kavanaugh, Mark Judge and others would participate in the targeting of women with alcohol/drugs in order to allow a "train" of men to subsequently gang rape them". "Committee lawyers are in the process of reviewing it now", a spokesperson for Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley said in a statement, according to Bloomberg's Sahil Kapur.

"I strongly believe Judge Kavanaugh should withdraw from consideration", Schumer said in a statement.

Even so, Trump insisted Kavanaugh's confirmation is "really working out well". Avenatti said earlier this week Swetnick's story was coming. "The committee staff have made six separate attempts to gather further information from Mr. Avenatti, and has repeatedly invited him and his client to a staff interview".

"Under no circumstances should Brett Kavanaugh be confirmed absent a full and complete investigation", Avenatti said. To this point, Republicans have resisted the idea of an FBI investigation into Kavanaugh's accusers.
