Spain's Rafael Nadal, right, hugs France's Richard Gasquet after their third round match of the French Open tennis tournament at the Roland Garros stadium, Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Paris.

Sixth seed Kevin Anderson is a potential quarter-final opponent for Nadal after beating Mischa Zverev 6-1 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 7-6 (7/4).

"I, of course, need to take care about what's going on".

It promises to be a hard-hitting match, with big serves and booming forehands, when Isner meets del Potro in the fourth round. I'll try to play a good match. This match-up completely suits the Spaniard, because the one-handed backhand can be vulnerable with heavy top-spin on a clay court and Nadal also plays well against players that give up a lot of ground in the baseline exchanges.

Nadal, who lost only two points in the first five games, will next play Germany's world number 70 Maximilian Marterer, who beat Estonian lucky loser Jurgen Zopp. "And I followed her all her career", she said about the former Wimbledon victor from France.

But Nadal said, "No, I don't remember him from then. But what I know is he's a player who is playing well, and as I said, when he played Zverev in the first round in Munich, he lost it, but he was very good".

He has won 12 consecutive matches at Roland Garros; the last loss was against Novak Djokovic in the 2015 quarterfinals. "Each time he is hitting the ball, you have a good picture.it is always a pleasure to shoot Rafa".

Diego Schwartzman joined countryman del Potro in the fourth round with an impressive 7-5, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Borna Coric. "He has power, so he's a risky opponent", Nadal said.

Croatia's Marin Cilic, the third seed, came through with no fuss 6-3 6-2 6-4 against American Steve Johnson. He looked the more experienced between the two players. Juan Martin del Potro was a victor over former quarterfinalist ALbert Ramos Vinolas 7-5, 6-4, 6-1.

In the completion of two matches from Friday, Karen Khachanov finished off Lucas Pouille and David Goffin saved four match points to put an end to Gael Monfils in a fun five setter 6-7 (8), 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3. Novak Djokovic has been shaky at times, too.

Broadcaster ITV has all the coverage of the French Open this year, covering the Grand Slam from 9.30am-9pm every day until the latter stages. The big-serving Croat next faces No. 18 Fabio Fognini, who beat Kyle Edmund, 6-3, 4-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.
