The topic was bus stops, but a Dayton woman addressing Beavercreek City Council at last night’s meeting gave members more than an earful on how she felt Beavercreek disproves the theory that wealth at the top works its way down to those at the bottom.

The Dayton woman, whose first name was Charlene, told council members that Beavercreek has misplaced values. She said that Beavercreek’s wealth derives from the public tax dollars coming to Wright Patterson Air Force Base which should also help the larger Dayton area.

She said Beavercreek creates a bus stop criteria that requires stops to be a mile apart and she questioned how that serves a blind person, an old person or a person in a wheelchair.

She concluded by saying that Beavercreek disproves the affirmation out there that wealth at the top works its way down to those on lower rungs. The one percent just keeps it.
