The Beavercreek School Bond Levy failed to gain passage for a second time. Austria will face Neuhardt in November for Hobson’s seat. Beavercreek Council member Jarrod Martin is the Republican choice for State Representative. See election results.

In the March 4, 2008 election, Beavercreek voters showed strong support for both the police and road levies, passing each with over a 60% affirmative vote. But when it came to the Beavercreek Schools bond levy, voters turned down the measure by a margin of over 3.72%. The margin of loss is nearly identical to to the bond issue’s loss back in November, even though over 5,000 more people voted on the issue in the March as compared to November.

In contested races, Beavercreek City Council member Jarrod Martin earned the position of representing the Republican party in November’s election to fill Kevin DeWine’s seat as State Representative for the 70th District. DeWine could not run again because of term limits.

In the crowded field of Democrats and Republicans both vying for a chance to fill retiring Representative Dave Hobson’s congressional seat, Steve Austria won on the Republican side and will run against Sharen Swartz Neuhardt who won on the Democrat’s side. Neuhardt beat Bill Conner who ran against Hobson in the last election.

Republicans chose Marilyn Reid to run for County Commission against Jerome Sutton, who won for the Democrats. See complete election results below. Many of the primary races were uncontested, meaning there was no challenger. Those results are listed as well. An “X” marks the winner in the listing below.
