Roll (officially written as roll:), a new specialty store devoted to bicycling will be opening this March at The Greene in Beavercreek. The concept for roll: was created in 2004 by Stuart Hunter, of Columbus, who felt the current offering of bicycle stores made shopping for bikes too complicated, intimidating, polarizing and just created an unpleasant experience.

With the creation of roll:, Hunter seeks to change that. The store has a goal of make shopping for bikes fun again and is guided by the mission to “personally fit each individual for the ride of their life”.

According to The Greene Towne Center’s website the store is scheduled to open some time in March. The company’s website currently shows an architectural sketch of what the new roll: store will look like from the exterior. Visit the roll: company website at www.roll-online.com to view the sketch.

The store sells bikes and accessories, offers bike service and repairs and also holds classes throughout the year on various bicycle related topics. Some classes are free and other more advanced classes require a fee to attend.

What the store is most known for is what it calls its roll:Perfect Fit system. The system features a patented process using a laser body scanner to analyze an individual’s needs and body geometry. Information gathered is then used to fit a bike with the body as comfortably as possible.
