The Greene County Board of Commissioners have asked the state of Ohio to lower the speed limit on Kaufman Avenue. During their December 28, 2006 meeting, County Commissioners approved a resolution that formally asks the Ohio Department of Transportation for the change. Resolution 06-12-21-7 requests that ODOT review of a county engineering study recommending the change and act accordingly.

In 2006 the County Engineering Department conducted an engineering and traffic investigation which recommended lowering the speed limit on Kauffman Avenue. The recommendation is to lower the speed between State Route 444 and Zink Road from a current speed of 55 mph to a lower speed of 45 mph.
