Rumors are circulating that Fairborn City Manager, Michael A. Cornell, has been tapped for the vacant position of Beavercreek City Manager. Local press reports on Tuesday, October 3 reported that Cornell had resigned his position with Fairborn with the intention of filling the job opening in Beavercreek. Cornell has a history in Beavercreek having served as Beavercreek City Planner for ten years prior to his service with Fairborn.


For the past three years Cornell has served as Fairborn City Manager, having taken the position in June of 2003. Cornell has a BA in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati and is a member of the American Planning Association/American Institute of Certified Planners, Home Builders Association of Dayton/Miami Valley Developers Council, and the Ohio Conference on Community Development Government Affairs Committee.
